WP7 - Simulation (Deliverable 7.1)

The full report is confidential and will not be distributed to the public. However, a brief summary of the contents are given here.

The boundary conditions to be used in the simulation studies of the MacSheep project have been defined. They are based on those of IEA-SHC Task 44, but a number of differences have been decided upon. The report presents these in detail, while for those that are the same as for Task 44 only a reference is given. The main differences are for the climate, where data from a Test Reference Year for Zurich with high time resolution is used as default climate, with Carcassonne as second climate. Additionally a different DHW load is used that has a higher variation than that used in Task 44. Default boundary conditions and system sizes have also been chosen and will be used for the presentation of results from phase II. The sizing used for the heat distribution system, heat pumps and boreholes has been done, and the performance indicators to be used in the project have been defined. The latter are essentially the same as in Task 44. Finally the reference simulation systems for TRNSYS 17 are briefly described as well as the models used in these reference systems.
